Hace ya un par de años fuimos invitados al International Pop Overthrow festival en Los Ángeles y por diversos motivos personales tuvimos que rechazar la oferta.
Como decían los Lemonheads “There´s no such thing as a second chance!”. Así que ni cortos ni perezosos, hemos confirmado nuestra asistencia a dicho evento. El mes elegido Mayo. Tenemos dos actuaciones confirmadas: Jueves 25 de Mayo y Viernes 26 de Mayo. Uno de los conciertos va a ser en la mítica sala “The Cavern”!!!
Los ingleses no tienen ni pajolera idea de lo que se les viene encima. El mal de las vacas locas un juego de niños, frente a la Ola Insana que amenaza las islas. Un buen momento para coger la revancha sobre el desastre de la armada invencible o la injusticia de Gibraltar.
Os paso la explicación del evento, con las palabras del organizador:
“International Pop Overthrow (or IPO, as it has affectionately become known) is a pop music festival which has been held for the past eight years in Los Angeles, and more recently in Chicago, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Nashville, San Francisco, and Liverpool, England (at the world famous Cavern Club)! We're proud to announce that 2005 was our most successful year yet, and we are greatly looking forward to all of the IPO shows in 2006. Each International Pop Overthrow features between 100-180 of the best pop bands from around the world. Everyone from the bands to the spectators has a wonderful time, and although we're all exhausted by the end, we part company with one prevailing thought: "I can't wait to do it again next year!"The purpose of International Pop Overthrow is two-fold: one aim is to give every worthy band who'd like to play their music in a festival atmosphere the chance to do so, and the other is to bring pop music the attention it so richly deserves. We have made great strides to that end, garnering press in several noteworthy papers in each city in which we hold the festival, and creating a very positive buzz about pop music within the inner circles of major labels. We're looking forward to the very real possibility that a number of bands who have played IPO will grab the brass ring and receive major label deals.The IPO website will be constantly updated as event particulars develop and change. Mis fiestas de estudiante en oxford cantaban los beatles en persona y bailabamos a su son.
Daria cualquier cosa por poder ir, y estoy super contenta de que vayais insanos a montarla como sabeis hacerlo.

Como me lo piense dos veces ME VOY. Es un plan repolludamente estupendo. Esta impregnado de los alaridos delas inglesas (y alguna española que de dejo caer por ahi)oyendo a los Beatles.
